Coronary Artery Disease

CABG & PCI: Advanced Coronary Revascularization

Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death globally. When medications and lifestyle changes are insufficient, revascularization becomes necessary. Our partner cardiac centers perform thousands of CABG procedures annually with excellent outcomes, offering both conventional on-pump and advanced off-pump (beating heart) techniques, as well as minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB).

Off-pump CABG (OPCAB) | Total arterial revascularization | MIDCAB | Complex PCI with IVUS/FFR | Hybrid coronary revascularization

适宜人群

  • Triple-vessel disease requiring CABG
  • Left main coronary artery disease
  • Failed previous PCI/stent
  • Chronic total occlusion (CTO)
  • Need for total arterial grafting

High-volume cardiac surgery centers with >2,000 CABG/year

建议在本地考虑

  • Single or double vessel disease amenable to PCI
  • Stable angina on medical therapy
  • Routine stent placement without complications
  • Cases with experienced local interventional cardiologist

常见问题

What is the difference between on-pump and off-pump CABG?
On-pump CABG uses a heart-lung machine to stop the heart during surgery. Off-pump CABG (OPCAB) is performed on a beating heart without the machine, potentially reducing complications like stroke and kidney injury. Both have excellent outcomes in experienced hands.
How long do bypass grafts last?
Internal thoracic artery (ITA) grafts have >90% patency at 10 years. Vein grafts have 50-60% patency at 10 years. Total arterial revascularization (using only arteries) provides the best long-term results.
Can I have CABG after previous stents?
Yes. Many patients require CABG after previous PCI, especially if stents fail or disease progresses. Previous stenting does not prevent successful CABG, though timing of surgery after stent placement needs careful consideration.
When can I return to work after CABG?
Desk work: typically 4-6 weeks. Physical work: 8-12 weeks. Full cardiac rehabilitation takes 3 months. Individual recovery varies based on age and overall health.
